Frequently Asked Questions

1

How does MaxxBets work?

MaxxBets aggregates real-time odds from all major sportsbooks and analyzes them to surface profitable betting opportunities. The platform scans for arbitrage, positive expected value (EV), low-hold, and middle opportunities across thousands of markets in real-time.

When a profitable discrepancy is detected, it appears in your dashboard with the sportsbooks involved, the odds on each side, and the expected profit or edge. You then place the bets directly at the sportsbooks, and return to MaxxBets to track your bets and profits over time. MaxxBets is not a sportsbook and does not place bets or handle money on your behalf.

  • Low-Hold Finder — Similar to arbitrage, but for for identofying opportunties where users can bet on both outcomes of a market on different sportsbooks to guarantee a small loss regardless of the outcome, ideal for converting promotions with rollover requirements

What makes MaxxBets different from other sports betting tools?

MaxxBets combines five real-time opportunity scanners, six calculators, a full bet tracker, and an educational resource library into a single platform. Rather than needing separate tools for arbitrage, EV, and promo conversion, everything is integrated and accessible from one dashboard.

The platform supports both Canadian and U.S. sportsbooks with the same toolset, and includes a help center with in-depth strategy guides and a terminology glossary so you can learn the strategies behind the numbers.

4

Which sportsbooks does MaxxBets support?

MaxxBets aggregates odds from every major sportsbook worldwide — including DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Bet365, BetRivers, theScore Bet, Fanatics, and dozens of regional and offshore books. These cover the majority of legal sports betting markets in Canada, the United States, and beyond.

You can configure which sportsbooks appear in your results using the excluded sportsbooks setting, and set a priority order to control how opportunities are displayed.

5

Is MaxxBets available outside of Canada?

Yes. The platform fully supports both Canadian and U.S. sportsbooks, plus offshore and international books. The major sportsbooks we track — DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Bet365, BetRivers, theScore Bet, Fanatics, and others — operate across multiple U.S. states, Canadian jurisdictions, and international markets.

As long as sports betting is legal in your jurisdiction and you have accounts with at least two of the supported sportsbooks, you can use MaxxBets to find opportunities.

6

Can I use MaxxBets on mobile?

Yes. MaxxBets has a dedicated iOS app with access to the full suite of tools including all five opportunity scanners, built-in calculators, the bet tracker with heatmap analytics, daily boosts, and educational resources.

The iOS app uses the same real-time data feed as the web platform. Subscriptions are managed from your Account page on maxxbets.ca. The web version remains fully available for desktop use.

7

Do I need multiple sportsbook accounts to use MaxxBets effectively?

Yes. MaxxBets works by finding price discrepancies between sportsbooks, so the more accounts you have, the more opportunities you will see. For arbitrage, low-hold, and middles, you need at least two sportsbook accounts to place both sides of a trade.

For positive EV betting, even a single account can be useful since you are looking for odds that exceed fair value on one side. However, having multiple accounts significantly increases the volume of opportunities. We recommend accounts at three or more of the supported sportsbooks for the best experience.

8

What is the difference between EV, Arbitrage, Low-Hold, Middles, and Promo Conversion?

  • Positive EV (Expected Value) — bets where the implied probability from the odds is lower than the true probability, making them mathematically profitable over a large sample size
  • Arbitrage — guaranteed profit by betting both sides of a market at two sportsbooks whose odds disagree enough that every outcome is covered
  • Low-Hold — markets where the combined vig across sportsbooks is very low, primarily used to convert bonus bets and promotions into cash with minimal expected loss
  • Middles — situations where you can bet both sides of a spread or total at different numbers, with the chance of winning both bets if the result lands between the two lines
  • Promo Conversion — a calculator-driven strategy for turning sportsbook promotions (bonus bets, no-sweat bets, profit boosts) into real money by finding optimal hedging opportunities
9

What calculators are available on MaxxBets?

  • Arbitrage Calculator — determines the optimal stake on each side of an arbitrage opportunity to guarantee equal profit regardless of outcome
  • Bonus Bet Conversion Calculator — calculates the real cash value of a bonus bet based on the odds of your chosen market
  • Vig Calculator — shows the sportsbook's built-in margin (juice) on any two-way market
  • No-Vig Odds Calculator — removes the sportsbook's margin to reveal true fair odds and implied probability for each side
  • Kelly Criterion Calculator — computes the mathematically optimal bet size based on your edge and bankroll to maximize long-term growth
  • Odds Converter — instantly converts between American, Decimal, Fractional, and Implied Probability formats
10

Does MaxxBets track bet performance over time?

Yes. Our integrated bet tracker records every wager, allowing you to monitor profitability by sportsbook, market, and strategy. Over time, this helps you refine your process and eliminate what isn't working.

11

How accurate is the data, and how often is it updated?

MaxxBets pulls odds directly from each sportsbook and updates them in real time. When a sportsbook changes a line, the update is reflected in your dashboard within seconds, including live in-game odds.

That said, odds can move quickly — especially during live events. We recommend acting on opportunities promptly and always confirming the current odds at the sportsbook before placing your bet.
