What is arbitrage betting? Arbitrage betting is a strategy where you bet both sides of a market across different sportsbooks, locking in a fixed return regardless of the result. Sportsbooks set their own lines independently, and every day there are opportunities where those lines are far enough out of sync that you can split your wager across books to lock in a fixed return. MaxxBets automatically scans for these opportunities on our Arbitrage page so you can act on them before the lines move.
Enter the American odds for each side and your total wager amount. The calculator splits your stake across both outcomes to equalize payouts, showing your total stake, total payout, and profit. You can adjust either side's odds or stake and the other recalculates automatically.
Implied probability for American odds: positive odds → 100 / (odds + 100), negative odds → |odds| / (|odds| + 100). Example: +180 implies 35.71%, −170 implies 62.96%. Combined = 98.67%, leaving a 6.1% edge. On a $200 total wager, you'd stake $118.52 on the −170 side and $81.48 on the +180 side. Either outcome pays ~$212.20 — locking in ~$12.20 profit.
